Your soul needs silence, stillness, solitude and a Sabbath day of rest.

When the sun began to shine this morning.

What was your first thought?

“A new day! Here we go!”

Or did you think, “I am soooo tired?”

Not just because you ran hard yesterday and you are physically exhausted.

Is your soul tired? I understand.

I spent years, decades really, running past my limits and feeling depleted.

Not today! I have learned how to live with joy and purpose, and I want that for you!

As a teacher, a pastor and coach for over 20 years, I know how important it is for people to believe in the value of their soul. Your soul is the essence of who you are. It is where we are reminded that we are made in God’s image.

Your soul is so important to who you are as a human being. When we neglect it, we walk with less creativity, strength and peace. It defines us, identifies us, connects us and drives us to our purpose.

I want to help you understand how important it is to remember that your soul is alive - and that it has needs for health just like our bodies and minds.

Most importantly, we need to believe that our soul needs rest.

We find that rest in God alone.

Can you close your eyes, and imagine that you are sitting under a tree? Take a few deep breaths and listen to what God is whispering to your soul…. “I love you, I made you on purpose, you are enough, go and live loved, share your gifts, the world needs them.”
